Me
Erin Cox Head Coach

Coach Erin is excited to return for the 2026 season as one of the Head Coach's of the Crestmoor Crocs! Swimming has been a part of her life for many years, beginning when she joined the Crocs as a swimmer at 10 years old. She continued swimming through age 18 and also swam competitively for McKean High School during her freshman year. Erin first became Head Coach in 2012, returned in 2025, and is thrilled to be back on the pool deck again this summer.

Her love for coaching began while she was still a swimmer herself, helping her coaches with anything swim-team related. That experience inspired her to become an assistant coach and eventually a Head Coach. Erin’s coaching philosophy centers around creating a fun, positive, and encouraging environment where every swimmer feels supported, confident, and excited to come to practice. She believes swimming is about more than just winning — it’s about learning teamwork, kindness, perseverance, sportsmanship, and building lifelong memories and friendships.

What Erin loves most about summer swim is having fun with the swimmers and seeing the excitement on their faces when they accomplish goals and succeed in their events. Her favorite stroke was always the 50 butterfly, and one of her favorite swim team memories was swimming up to the 15–18 age group in butterfly. Although she was terrified to race older swimmers, she pushed through her nerves and ended up winning the event — a moment that taught her the importance of confidence and determination.

The Crestmoor Crocs hold a very special place in Erin’s heart. She joined the swim club with her family when she was just 2 years old, and now at 36, Crestmoor truly feels like a second home. From growing up as a Croc swimmer to coaching the team and now watching her own daughters become part of the Crocs family, it has been incredibly meaningful to see things come full circle.

This season, Erin is most excited to watch returning swimmers continue to grow, help new swimmers learn the sport, and co-head coach alongside Coach Kate. Her goal for the team is to help swimmers develop strong stroke technique, build confidence in the water, and continue growing the team in a fun and supportive environment. She especially enjoys coaching the 8 & unders because she loves making swimming fun and helping young swimmers gain confidence, while also enjoying the challenge of motivating older swimmers to work hard and achieve their goals.

Outside of swimming, Erin enjoys baking (especially chocolate chip cookies!), playing games like The Sims and Planet Coaster, and spending time with her husband and daughters. And if you’re wondering about her favorite pre-meet snack — it’s definitely Polly-O string cheese!

Coach Erin values swimmers who bring a positive attitude, willingness to learn, strong sportsmanship, and the ability to have fun while still giving their best effort. If she could describe the Crocs in one word, it would be: Energetic!

Kate
Kate Bartkowski Head Coach

Hi Crocs! My name is Kate, and I am so excited to be back as one of the Head Coach's for the Crestmoor Crocs! I first started coaching around 2018, took a couple years off, and now I’m thrilled to return to the pool deck for another fun season.

When our team needed a coach and a complete rebuild, I stepped in because summer swim always meant so much to me growing up. I loved the friendships, memories, and fun that came with being part of a swim team, and I wanted my own kids to have that same experience. My biggest coaching philosophy is simple: HAVE FUN!

I swam competitively for Westminster, McKean, and Team Delaware, and my favorite events were backstroke and IM. As a coach, I hope swimmers not only learn proper stroke technique, but also gain confidence in the water and believe in themselves.

One of my favorite parts about coaching is watching the kids laugh, grow, and truly enjoy being part of the team. My favorite swim team memory was always Westminster’s banquet because it focused so much on celebrating the kids and making lasting memories together. The Crocs are especially meaningful to me because this is the first and only team I’ve ever coached!

Outside of swimming, I love reading, organizing, spending time with my family, and going thrifting at Goodwill. A fun fact about me is that I can never say no to chocolate — especially Hershey’s bars, which my dad swears give my daughter Lucy extra swim-meet energy!

I’m most excited to simply be back because I’ve truly missed swim team. My goal this season is to continue growing our team and welcoming even more swimmers into our Crocs family. I love coaching all age groups because every swimmer brings something special to the team.

If I could give one piece of advice to new swimmers, it would be: stick it out! Summer swim can feel cold and different at first, but it becomes one of the most fun and rewarding experiences you’ll ever have.

I hope this season is filled with hardworking attitudes, flexibility, kindness, and most importantly — JOY!

Connor
Connor Carter Assistant Coach

We’re excited to have Connor back for another season as an Assistant Coach with the Crestmoor Crocs! With two years of coaching experience and a lifelong love for swimming, Coach Connor brings energy, encouragement, and plenty of Croc spirit to the pool deck each day.

As a former competitive swimmer at the YMCA and St. Elizabeth’s swim team, breaststroke has always been a favorite event. Coach Connor especially enjoys coaching our younger swimmers, particularly the 8 & unders, and loves helping kids build confidence in the water while having fun along the way. One of the best parts of coaching is seeing swimmers reach their goals, laugh together, and grow stronger through both successes and challenges.

Coach Connor hopes swimmers learn that losing a race does not make them a loser — it makes them stronger and helps them grow as athletes. Their advice to swimmers is simple but powerful: control what you can control and always give your best effort, even when you think you can’t.

Favorite summer swim memories include being part of an undefeated season and making lifelong memories with friends at the pool. Outside of swimming, Coach Connor enjoys late-night drives listening to music, playing volleyball, building Legos, and spending time near the water. A favorite pre-meet snack? Taco-in-a-Bag, of course!

What keeps Coach Connor coming back every summer is the people and the incredible atmosphere of the Crestmoor Crocs — a team that is always eager to help, full of energy, and overflowing with Croc spirit. This season, Coach Connor is most excited to see the team continue to grow and hopefully welcome over 100 swimmers again!

When it comes to practice, favorite games include Sharks and Minnows and Lifeguard. To Coach Connor, being a great teammate means always encouraging and cheering each other on, helping teammates stay prepared, and bringing positive energy to the team every day. One word that best describes the Crocs? Energetic!
